INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 29, 2008) - Axess Ultrasound, a former business unit of healthcare equipment manager, TriMedx, was recently launched as a separate wholly-owned subsidiary of its founding organization. Offering everything ultrasound - equipment, service, parts, transducers, and training - Axess was originally created as an internal business unit within TriMedx in 2006.
"Our goal is to be the ultimate source for ultrasound needs," said Jack Dill, executive director of Axess Ultrasound. "From system repair, technical support and training, to maintaining an expansive parts inventory and performing probe repair, we are striving to set the industry standard."
Operating a 19,000-sq.-ft. facility in Indianapolis, Axess has grown to a nearly $10-million business since inception and is on its way to achieving double-digit growth in its current business year. The newly formed LLC currently serves thousands of customers in 37 states and 11 countries internationally. Axess service professionals diagnose and repair transducers and ultrasound circuit boards, helping reduce replacement costs for hospitals, physicians, imaging centers, and other group practices. Remote and regionally-located technicians also perform preventive assurance and emergency repair.
In addition, Axess offers training courses for ultrasound technicians. Taught by OEM-certified instructors, classes offer interactive learning for system operation, disassembly and reassembly, and software reloads.
"Incubating and thrusting Axess Ultrasound into the marketplace as an independent concern illustrates how TriMedx has an ear to the ground and a nose to the grindstone in the healthcare equipment industry," said Greg Ranger, president and chief executive officer, TriMedx. "By creating a vertically-integrated business like Axess, we've broadened our portfolio of services for customers. And we've only begun to scratch the surface - the possibilities are endless for new business opportunities."
